Goalies will notice the AXIS provides unbelievable protection and maneuverability due to the high-performing impact protection provided through the D30 Speed Skin Smart Material technology. A reinforced D30 palm with a molded backhand provides additional flexible impact protection ensuring you will feel safe and comfortable while guarding the crease.
External Material
CCM uses D30 Speed Skin material on this trapper, currently one of the lightest skins used in the goalie world. CCM is taking a “don’t fix what isn’t broken” approach when it comes to the skin on their gear.
Break Angle
The first thing you’ll notice about this glove is not only that it’s more comfortable, but also that it is truly game ready. The molded backhand provides further flexibility making sure that while fully protected, you will still be able to make glove saves all day long. The 600 break is the same as what’s seen on the popular Extreme Flex 4 glove. It pushes the break further out towards your fingers giving it the feeling that you’re holding a roll of quarters at the base of your fingers rolling your hand closed when catching the puck.
Pocket Design
CCM’s AXIS trapper features a double straight T pocket design. The double straight T increases visibility for the goalie when searching for pucks during a scramble. Additionally, the double straight T offers a wider pocket for increased surface area and a decreased chance of a popout.
Strapping
The strapping on the CCM AXIS stays familiar with previous CCM trappers. The quick-release webbing strap allows for easy and secure adjustments ensuring the perfect fit.
Cuff Design
The cuff on the AXIS allows the goalie their full wrist mobility without any restrictions. A one piece cuff and thumb design lets the goalie present their glove the way they want to hold it while providing maximum coverage.
